Just as Jeffrey Greene, manager of CPA’s Prison Arts Program, believes that inmates must “stop thinking of an artist as someone they could become, but someone that they could draw out of themselves,” poet/educator Barb Jennes believes that we are all poets awaiting awakening and opportunity for expression. Using works from the current How Art Changed the Prison exhibition as inspiration, Jennes will lead an intergenerational workshop in which practicing poets and non-writers alike will draft a series of poems – and, most likely, surprise themselves.
The Aldrich is open today from 12 noon to 5 pm.
