Join us at Camp Aldrich for a full-day, week-long arts experience with Museum educators and practicing artists. Weeks are themed and tailored to specific age groups for the ultimate creative learning environment. On Wednesdays campers will walk into town for a local field trip. Family and friends are invited to a culminating art show on Friday evenings. Caregivers receive personalized daily emails from the Camp Aldrich team sharing what their child learned and did that day.

Technical Magic: Drawing and Illustration: Grades 4-6

Join our newest teaching artist Zeb Mayer in this exciting week of Camp Aldrich focused on developing drawing skills and sensibilities inspired by the talented artists and their drawings featured in our exhibition, Twenty Twenty. Pairing technical skills like perspective and observational drawing with fun, imaginative play and material exploration, campers will expand their abilities, creativity, and confidence as illustrators!

Teaching Artist Bio: Zeb Mayer

With a wide range of experience in visual communication, Zeb Mayer stands somewhere between the realms of the contemporary arts, traditional drawing, commercial illustration, and graphic design. After years of working with local arts organizations, exhibiting, curating, and receiving a BA from Western Connecticut State University, Mayer now finds himself immersed in the commercial arts. As an illustrator, his work ranges anywhere from highly intricate hand drawn patterns, to simplistic humorous designs. As a designer, Mayer creates everything from food packaging and coffee labeling to poster designs and illustrative branding systems.
