Ridgefield (May 2007). The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is pleased to announce that they will continue a partnership with the Housatonic Area Regional Transit District (HART) to provide free Saturday Bus Service to Ridgefield, Connecticut, from Katonah, New York, Metro-North Railroad (MTA) station. This year, the bus will trace a wider loop around town to provide access to The Ridgefield Playhouse and Weir Farm National Historic Site.
With its unique combination of contemporary art, theater, history, hiking, and a wonderful downtown, Ridgefield offers a highly desirable getaway for New Yorkers. This partnership will make Ridgefield easily accessible from New York City, and will bring visitors not only to the Museum, but to Ridgefield’s town center, enabling visitors to shop the boutiques, hunt for antiques, stroll, enjoy restaurants, and other attractions.
The bus will run every Saturday from Memorial Day, May 28, 2007 to Halloween, October 31, 2007 and offer access to The Aldrich and all that Ridgefield has to offer. For information about The Aldrich Museum and the HART Bus service, please visit www.aldrichart.org or call 203.438.4519.
Ridgefield’s Chamber of Commerce, The Downtown Merchants Association, the First Selectman’s Office, and The State of Connecticut have all been instrumental in continuing this community service into 2007. The Aldrich is grateful to them and to The Ridgefield Playhouse, Weir Farm National Historic Site, and HART for their participation.
